Men with a Mission

Key Man Responsibilities

As the MWAM Key Man, the areas you will need to fulfill are as follows:

Time:  Available approximately 2 hours per week to mobilize men in your church and receive requests of serving opportunities.

ESA support:  ESA staff will help you develop, promote, and train your MWAM group.  We will support you as you develop the MWAM group in your church.

Vital link:  Being actively involved in your church and with the men in your church is extremely important.

A phone network:  MWAM is a serving network of men who will get calls to help others as a team.  Your role is to watch the project come to completion.  Many times a phone call to see how the process is working is all it takes.  Men like to volunteer their time when the boundaries are clear and the commitment is communicated well.  As Key Man you will follow through with men who have already said yes to help but sometimes face time and personal struggles in actually doing the project, be determined regarding the men’s time, but considerate also.

Team Development:  The Key Man will keep the focus on vision and the heart for serving others.  He will need to make sure the team captains meet when needed (i. e. a simple breakfast, a short devotion and discuss important issues).  The meeting should be light and fun and run about 1 hour to 1½ hour.  ESA staff will help you be prepared and successful in developing your team.

Communication:  Some basic communication skills are necessary.  Speaking in front of your men’s group and your church will be necessary.  Many times we see men using a testimony time as a way to communicate the MWAM vision.
