Our Vision
Our vision is to assist the local church in building men of God through healthy, church-based men's ministries who reach out and serve others.
Our Mission
- MWAM will come alongside your men and help mobilize them to serve.
- MWAM will help train and equip your men to be a team working on local mission projects.
- MWAM will connect your men with local mission projects helping people in need who have been screened, assessed, and qualified.
“.. you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.” (Isaiah 58:12b)
The model of Jesus Christ’s life was the inspiration for ‘Men With A Mission’ (MWAM). Jesus lived as a Man With A Mission.
We believe Jesus is calling men to obey Him, follow His word, and be men of God—men committed to Christ’s Great Commission. Men With A Mission!
- from ‘The Purpose Driven Life’ by Rick Warren.
How Do We Get Connected?
- Discuss this with your pastor.
- Identify a Key Man or some men in your church interested in developing a MWAM men’s network.
- Contact MWAM at mwam@esali.org.
- MWAM will make a presentation with a DVD to your men.
- MWAM will train your core leaders in teamwork and serving in the name of Christ.
Commitment
Time commitment to most MWAM groups is no more than one Saturday per month. Typically, projects are scheduled between 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. Our team approach of serving others in the name of Christ is a powerful place to invite your non-Christian friends so they can witness men of God working together.
Training and Implementation:
After meeting with the pastor and the leader of your men, a MWAM Key Man is identified and the process begins.
- Meet with the MWAM Key Man (s) and overview the entire process.
- Review MWAM Key Man responsibilities.
- Network structure – example in PDF format | example in Excel format.
- Foreman.
- Volunteer Captains.
- Team Captains.
- After orientation of Key Man and team, put together a timeline to promote MWAM in the church.
- Set a date for the MWAM orientation and kick off meeting.
- Orientation runs approximately 1-½ hours, after the leaders will meet for an additional 1-½ hour for an overview, training, and spiritual gifts assessment inventory.
- Men signup by submitting a survey form.
- Referrals begin to come to the network, and teams are mobilized.
